Community Development Corporation
The Community Development Corporation (CDC) will host their annual meeting this year on May 13, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. New to the format will be a virtual meeting to be in compliance with the state’s Safer at Home order. The meeting is open to the public and interested parties and all current CDC members are encouraged to join in the meeting.
A slate of board candidates will be put forth to the membership to assume their positions for a 2-year term. Neal Johnson has reached the board term limits. Jim Garrett is also up for re-election. Therefore, two board positions are open. Upon a self-nominating process open to all current CDC members, board candidates were selected. The slate of candidates running for the 2020 board are Jim Garrett and Sherry Waner. Jim Garrett has sat on the CDC board for two-years and is seeking to remain on the board for another 2-year term. He is a Pagosa resident, lawyer and active in other organizations such as the Rotary Club. Sherry Waner is a former CDC board member. She is the Chief Development Officer for First Southwest Bank and First Southwest Bank Community Fund. All current CDC board members will be eligible to vote.
Also at the meeting will be a recap of the Broadband efforts and Opportunity Zone initiative and a roll out of the CDC Strategic Plan for the next 3 years. All members or the public are welcome to review and comment. For questions concerning membership, joining the meeting or the CDC organization, please contact Mary Jo Coulehan, CDC administrator at admin@pagosaspringscdc.org.
