Loans & Financing

The Pagosa Springs Community Development Corporation (PS CDC) works to help provide vitality and depth to the Archuleta County economy. An important part of this effort includes helping businesses start, grow and flourish in our community, and adequate financing provides a key pillar to successfully starting or growing a business. The PS CDC partners with a number of entities that can provide financing for your business, including Region 9 Economic Development District, local banks, the State of Colorado and federal grant and loan programs.

PS CDC Business Loan Fund

In 2015, the PS CDC applied for and received a $25,000 grant to seed a micro-loan program—the Business Loan Fund (BLF)—that eventually included more than $80,000 in funds with matching contributions from partners including Region 9 Economic Development District and First Southwest Bank. The PS CDC aims to get this money into the Archuleta County business community and we can make loans from $1,000 to $25,000 to help start or expand your business. Primary activities the BLF targets include:

  • Expansion of existing business,
  • Retention of existing business employment,
  • Start ups and new businesses,
  • Retail building enhancement, and
  • Nonprofits.

The PS CDC requires an initial consultation with a business advisor to assess your needs and project and to provide direction to move forward with a BLF loan application. The PS CDC plans to approve loans within a month from application submittal for well-formed and strongly-rooted projects. In some cases, more work or information may be needed to process the loan application and your advisor will help you understand the gaps to fill.
